Petrobras aims for ethanol exports to China

In Brazil, Petrobras has begun discussions with an unidentified Chinese company that may take an equity stake and potentially purchase ethanol for export to China. The talks are only at an initial stage but Petrobras signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the company earlier this year. Petrobras stated it is also looking at selling ethanol as a petrochemical feedstock to produce green products but declined to name the Chinese company at this time.
