Brazil lauches Bioplanet project to produce biodiesel for World Cup in 2014

In Brazil, over 25 million liters of biodiesel will be produced as part of the Bioplanet project, part of the Brazil Promotion Plan for the FIFA World Cup in 2014. The Bioplanet project seeks to establish 40 local production arrangements in World Cup host cities to produce, promote and use biodiesel from used cooking oil. It also plans to mobilize three million students across Brazil as well as 10,000 recyclable material pickers. The project focuses on environmental education to help establish Brazil’s environmental legacy.
