South Africa to get $167.7 million biomass-fired power plant

In South Africa, Byromate is set to develop a $167.7 million biomass-powered electricity plant in Richards Bay that will use sugarcane trash, energy crops and forestry waste. Construction of the facility cited at the industrial park is set for Q3 next year and should come online in 2018. Permits still need to be secured.
