Oasis Group plans to invest $75 million in inedible wheat-based ethanol plant

January 4, 2016 |

In India, Oasis Group plans to invest $75 million in a 500,000 liter per day wheat-based ethanol plant in Punjab co-located with a current ENA facility. Already the company operates five ENA distilleries around the country producing 200 million liters annually. At first the plant will run at 250,000 liters daily before later scaling up in phase 2. The wheat will not be food-grade. The company credits the government’s 10% ethanol blending mandate, currently dominated by molasses-based ethanol, for encouraging the investment.
