Kazakhstan to bring Biokhim ethanol plant back online by year’s end

January 26, 2016 |

In Kazakhstan, a mothballed Biokhim wheat-based ethanol plant in the northern part of the country is set to come back online by the end of the year, bringing 400 people back to work along with it. The Investment Fund of Kazakhstan is developing a plan for a pilot run that should be ready for December. The facility was targeted for a restart during the latter half of 2015. The facility was first commissioned in 2006 but had problems from the start that kept it from running properly.
