Growth Energy says industry must target 2 billion gallons of ethanol exports for 2022

February 24, 2016 |

In Florida, with ethanol production capacity about 1 billion gallons above mandated demand, Growth Energy says ethanol exports need to target 2 billion gallons by 2022 to keep up with production and consumption trends, far above the 836 million gallons exported in 2015 and the 800 million gallon surplus so far expected for 2016. “This is a long-term game, and we will not give up. Our industry is poised to succeed, because we are doing the right thing for our nation and generations to come. We will continue to go full throttle to produce a biofuel that reduces toxic air emissions while improving performance for future vehicles,” said eff Broin, co-chair of Growth Energy’s Board of Directors, in a “Chairman’s Report.”
