Indian parliament committee demands ministry provide E10 plan in 30 days

March 16, 2016 |

In India, the Parliament’s Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas has given the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas 30 days to sort out a plan to ensure compliance with the 10% ethanol blending mandate, saying disconnected efforts like encouraging oil marketing companies to set up three pilot projects for non-sugarcane biofuels isn’t enough to achieve targets. The committee had sought a plan from the ministry before but was only given a response indicating receipt of the suggestions rather than concrete measures, which the committee responded with a deadline for action.
