Bio-diesel pumping out safe energy

April 6, 2017 |

In South Africa, Lamo Fuel is developing a 5 million liter per year biodiesel facility that will use domestically-produced sunflower oil as feedstock. The plant is expected to come online for 2019 and aims to supply the mining industry in the Northern Cape and North West provinces. Through the Limpopo-based Mapfura-Makhura incubation program that focuses on biofuel industries, the company was able to produce its fuel last year and test it on tractors. This year the company is participating in a further investment readiness program.
