Licenses to store and supply ethanol to OMCs awarded to 14 Indian distilleries

January 22, 2019 |

In India, the Press Trust of India reports that the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization has awarded licenses to 14 distilleries, allowing them to store and supply ethanol to oil marketing companies for blending under the ethanol mandate. Another 87 distilleries have been awarded safety measures for storage and supply of ethanol. The licensing program has been seen by some distilleries as an impediment to their participation in the ethanol blending program due to the costs involved with securing licenses as well as the lag time it takes for them to be issued.
