Chinese company launches $9 million ethanol plant in Zambia

In Zambia, Xinhua news agency reports that Chinese company Zhongkai International Company has launched a $9 million cassava and corn-based ethanol plant in the central part of the country. The facility will produce liquid fertilizer and CO2 in addition to ethanol. The project is seen as a key part to creating a strong value chain for cassava with 600,000 people in the region benefiting from the ethanol plant in addition to providing 200 direct jobs.
