Malaysian biodiesel production seen soaring amid record exports

July 25, 2019 |

In Malaysia, Reuters reports that despite trade challenges with the European Union, the country is expecting record palm oil biodiesel this season as well as record exports. Production is seen reaching 1.4 million metric tons, up 55% on the year, while exports could reach 650,000 tons which would be a 24% increase. Malaysia expects that the anti-subsidy duties the European Union announced earlier this week against Indonesian biodiesel imports could have near-term benefits for its own exports during the latter half of this year.
