EPA memo shows it granted 100% hardship waivers when DOE recommended only 50%

In Washington, Reuters reports an Environmental Protection Agency memo shows the agency approved full hardship waivers for small refineries even though the Department of Energy recommended only 50% relief for some of the applicants. The corn and biofuel industry is expected to push back further against the White House who promised a month ago for a “big” relief package but details of the package have not been released nor has an ongoing battle between oil and corn interests come to an agreement on replacing some of the missing gallons next year.
