In the UK, liquid biofuel consumption during Q2 was 599 million liters, up 30% on the year compared to 462 million liters during Q2 2018, but the growth came from increased biodiesel consumption that rose 53% to 412 million liters. Ethanol consumption fell 3.1% to 187 million liters, a drop of 6 million liters on the year, with ethanol accounting for just 31% of liquid biofuel consumption. Even with the increase in consumption, the biodiesel blending rate held steady at 3.5% while the ethanol blending rate fell to 4.3% from 4.5%.
