Indonesia blocking imports of EU wine and spirits as biodiesel retaliation continues

In Indonesia, Reuters reports that Indonesia is taking its trade war with the European Union over biodiesel very seriously, upping the ante to include blocking imports of European alcohol on top of those lobbed onto European dairy products in retaliation for antidumping tariffs on Indonesian biodiesel and a ban on palm oil-based biodiesel. The European Commission’s then-trade commissioner highlighted the issue in September, with spirits and wine remaining stranded at port. There have also been delays in securing dairy import permits.
