In Washington, Platts reports that the Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol production fell from a seven-month high last week to an average 1.049 million b/d but it was still 18,000 b/d higher than during the same period last year. Ethanol prices have fallen in recent weeks due to large production runs and seasonal low demand, which in turn may have encouraged lower production in the week ending January 17. More than a million barrels were added to stock levels with stock builds in all regions except for the West Coast where there were minimal stock drawdowns.
