Lone Star launches hostile takeover of Atvos Agroindustrial from Odebrecht

In Brazil, Valor Economico reports that private equity firm Lone Star has gone in and purchased a lien against Atvos Agroindustrial from Natixis for $5 million in a hostile takeover move. The lien which equates to a majority share dates back to 2017 and would make Lone Star the majority owner if successful. Odebrecht owns Atvos and had hoped to sell the company for as much as $2.3 billion, slightly less than $2.14 billion it owes.
