Pertamina sees Indonesian biodiesel sales falling 12% in 2020

August 31, 2020 |

In Indonesia, Reuters reports Pertamina expects 2020 biodiesel sales to fall 12% on the year to 28.2 billion liters. The company told parliament it sees sales rebounding in 2021, however, back up to 31.5 billion liters, of which 26.6 billion liters will be from Pertamina. COVID-19 has significantly impact fuel demand, which has hit biodiesel consumption despite the ever-increasing blending mandate that rose to 30% this year. The government plans to raise the mandate again next year to 40% following successful testing.
