In Brazil, Platts reports Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock data shows anhydrous ethanol inventories in the central-south region have hit the lowest level in five years as of September 15 at 3.17 billion liters, 0.3% lower than last year. The sugarcane crush in the north-northeast started in mid-August, accounting for a surge in stocks in the region, counter to the trend in the CS. Hydrous ethanol stocks are also showing higher levels as flex-fuel drivers choose to fill up with gasoline despite hydrous being cheaper.
