Gabon provides Olam Palm with authorizations required to produce biodiesel

In Gabon, the Energy Mix Report says local press reports Olam Palm has received all required authorizations in order to produce biodiesel. The public-private JV company operates two palm oil mills and a palm kernel crushing plant as well as 202,000ha of palm plantations in the country. Details of the proposed project were not reported. Some of the company’s plantations are RSPO certified but it has faced scrutiny from NGOs over allegations of deforestation in rainforest areas.
