True North Venture Partners taps into Indian market to produce syngas-based ethanol

In India, the Economic Times newspaper reports that True North Venture Partners has acquired Synata Bio as an entry way into the Indian market where it hopes to significantly scale up ethanol production from syngas. The company believes it can produce ethanol from syngas coming from coal emissions at 20% to 30% lower cost than current sugarcane-based ethanol in the country. The national E20 policy plans have been a key driver in the company looking into investments in India over the past two years.
