Texas company to invest $15M in producing green pallets from corn stover in Iowa

In Iowa, the Des Moines Register reports a Texas company is looking to invest $15 million in a facility that will produce green shipping pallets from corn stover. The technology, called CornBoard, is already used for everything from surfboards to skis and furniture. The facility needs as many as 50 farmers per year to supply up to 50,000 bales of stover for which the company is prepared to pay $750,000 annually. Some Sac County farmers have already been participating in trials for the past two years.
