First Iberian green bunker trial underway with Petrogas and PRIO

In Spain, Bunkerspot reports Petrogas’ Dácil vessel is trying out PRIO’s Eco Bunker biofuel bunkering fuel. The bunker fuel has a 15% biodiesel blend, reducing CO2 emissions by 18% but also lowering energy intensity by 5%. The fuel, which is thought to be the first marine biofuel trial on the Iberian peninsula, was supplied by truck from the Aveiro Biofuel Plant in Portugal. PRIO’s Aveiro Biofuel Plant was commissioned in November 2020 following 10 years of R&D.
