Ethanol production bounces back following Snowmaggedon

March 3, 2021 |

In Washington, DTN reports Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol production made a quick comeback following “snowmaggedon” that hit much of the US the week prior, producing 849,000 bpd, an increase of 29% over the week prior. Demand rose more than 12% over the prior week as well, helping to eat into ethanol stocks. Stocks were 22.425 million barrels, the lowest seen in 12 weeks with lower volumes seen in all regions. Blending still remained almost 10% lower than during the same period in 2020, however.
