In Brazil, Reuters reports that UNICA data shows ethanol production fell 18% during the second half of March to 372 million liters while the sugarcane crush during the period was a third less than last year. Poor rains have negatively impacted cane growth over the past few months, so mills are choosing to not start crushing early, ahead of the traditional April 1 start date, as has been the case during the past several years.
