Ethanol stocks fall to lowest since 2016 despite runs of more than 1M barrels per day

In Washington, Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol stocks yet again fell to their lowest levels since 2016 at 18.98 million barrels, nearly half a million barrels lower than the week before. That stock drawdown was despite the fact that ethanol production was an average of 1.011 million barrels per day. Ethanol production at the same time last year was 287,000 on the year as lockdowns were in place, keeping drivers off the road and demand low.
