CVR Energy looking at SAF production as part of refinery conversions

In Texas, Bloomberg reports CVR Energy is looking to include SAF production as part of its transition to renewable fuels at some of its oil refineries. The company’s CEO said that he supports subsidies for renewable fuels, such as the $2 per gallon subsidy proposed in Congress last week for SAF. Although the subsidy would be the highest for clean fuel, if approved, SAF is up to four times the cost of fossil-based aviation fuel.
