Neste looking to produce renewable diesel in Quebec using forestry waste

June 7, 2021 |

In Canada, Bloomberg reports Neste is planning to develop a forestry waste-based renewable diesel facility in Quebec. Feedstock prices for renewable diesel have been on the rise recently on the back of oil majors quickly shifting to decarbonize their value chains, converting refineries to HVO and SAF. But Nestle says it has a 15 year head start on those companies so is able to quickly shift gears and look at lower value feedstocks where they are easily available and set up production there.
