In Brazil, Reuters reports Raizen plans to invest in a new 82-million-liter cellulosic ethanol plant, double the size of its first 2G facility, although the amount of the investment was not released in the securities filing that mentioned the new project. Already 91% of the production from its first plant has been sold to an unnamed global energy company in long-term contracts, leading to the need for a second, larger facility. The facility to be located at the Bonfim bioenergy park located in Guariba in the state of São Paulo should be online by 2023.
