July 8, 2021 |

In Belgium, Euractiv reports that the biofuels industry wants the European Commission to expand the list of approved feedstocks for advanced biofuels in order to reach the higher targets expected from the third version of the Renewable Energy Directive. Euractiv saw a draft of the policy that showed an increase in the advanced biofuel blending target of 5.5% from the current 3.5% while renewables are expected to account for 26% of the transportation fuel mix by the end of the decade compared to 14% in the current Renewable Energy Directive II.
