In the UK, Ship and Bunker reports MSC blended 850,000 metric tons of marine biofuel last year, with earlier reports saying that bunkering blends used out of Rotterdam had reached as high as 47%. The company’s CEO urged policymakers to enact carbon pricing to help bridge the gap between fossil-based bunker fuels and marine biofuels to help quicken the decarbonization of the marine transport sector. The comments were made during London International Shipping Week on Wednesday.
