September 30, 2021 |

In India, the Press Trust of India reports that the government has submitted a request to the Supreme Court to secure permission to require all vehicle manufacturers to produce flex-fuel vehicles. The move is part of the wider push to boost ethanol production and consumption domestically, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and significantly reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels. The transportation minister also said it wants to see the military move away from fossil fuels and transition its fleet to LNG, CNG and ethanol.
