EPA expected to release 2021 and 2022 RVOs in coming days

December 2, 2021 |

In Washington, Reuters reports that after having missed the deadline for 2021 and 2022 blending levels this week, the Environmental Protection Agency is expected to release those mandates in the next few days. Refiners have been pushing hard for the Biden Administration to cut blending levels and have shorted the RIN market to dangerous levels in order to push the EPA into submission. Ethanol producers and corn states have been calling for the EPA to keep levels where they were meant to be as envisioned by legislators when the Renewable Fuel Standard was signed but Reuters reported previously that leaked figures showed significant cuts.
