December 20, 2021 |

In China, Xinhua news agency reports the Guangming Daily newspaper says researchers from the University of Science and Technology of China, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics have found a way to make formic acid from carbon dioxide and water at low cost through the development of a single-atom copper catalyst. The process uses an electrolyzer that allows for continuous production without need for a product separation process.
