In Washington, Dow Jones reports Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol production fell by 20,000 barrels last week, bringing levels below 1 million barrels per day for the first time since October. Analysts had expected production to remain steady on the week at around 1.04 million bpd. In line with lower production, stocks fell to 24.8 million barrels last week, going against analysts’ expectations that with steady production stocks would grow to more than 26 million barrels.
