Argentina increases corn-based ethanol prices to ensure sufficient fuel at the pump

April 27, 2022 |

n Argentina, Surtidores reports that during the first week of April, the national government increased biodiesel prices for fuel destined for domestic blending with diesel, and now it has done the same with a progressive increase in corn-based ethanol mixed with gasoline, which by August will peak at a nearly 50% increase.

The purpose of this is to maintain and guarantee the production of biofuels in the market and thus reduce imports, taking into account the difficulties due to the high cost of a barrel of crude oil at the international level – more than $100, which was reflected in the supply problems.
