Cargill Canada breaks ground at $350M canola crushing plant

In Canada, Meeri News reports that Cargill Canada has broken ground at its $350 million canola crushing plant located outside Regina at its Global Transportation Hub. The facility is set to produce 43 million gallons of canola oil annually from 1 million metric tons of canola annually when it opens in early 2024. Future infrastructure investments such as road, rail and facilities are under consideration. The oil will be used for human consumption as well as biodiesel feedstock while producing animal feed as a byproduct.
