Streetwear brand launches sneakers made from cork and reject adult toys

In Los Angeles, trendy clothing brand Rose in Good Faith has launched a line of sneakers made from cork, cotton liner, ethylene vinyl acetate, and plastic sourced from defective sex toys. 

Dubbed Plastic Soul, the idea came after Rose in Good Faith founder David Teitelbaum visited sex toy maker Doc Johnson’s factory and saw that there was a fair amount of unused polymer associated with defective toys.  “I had the idea when touring the impressive Doc Johnson facility and seeing a few toys that didn’t make it past quality assurance, get grounded down through a machine,” Teitelbaum told Dezeen.  “The little rough cubes from the broken toys sparked a memory of EVA pellets and from there the idea was born.” 

Plastic Soul retails for £111 ($130).
