Vueling and Cepsa operate over 75 flights with SAF from Seville airport

November 30, 2022 |

In Spain, Europa Press reported that local airline Vueling and Cepsa will operate more than 75 flights with sustainable aviation fuel from Seville airport, within the framework of their collaboration agreement signed in April this year to accelerate the decarbonization of air transport.

The flights, which began last Friday and will continue in the coming days, will be made with 4.5% sustainable aviation fuel in their tanks –exceeding the 2% target set by the EU for 2025 — provided by Cepsa and which reduces CO2 emissions by around 500 kilograms per flight.

The fuel supplied by Cepsa is produced from olive pits and other plant residues from the olive industry in Spain.
