China Energy to start construction of green hydrogen plant in Egypt in May

In the United Arab Emirated (UAE), Zawya reported that China Energy will start the construction works of a $5.1 billion hydrogen project in Egypt next May. According to the report, China Energy and Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in November 2022 to establish a green hydrogen production project in Egypt, with the possibility of exporting green ammonia to European countries. Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly welcomed the China Energy’s interest in making new investments in the field of green hydrogen and water desalination in Egypt, expressing his country’s readiness to provide a package of incentives necessary to implement these initiatives.
