India launches portal for biogas project permitting

In India, LiveMint reports that government has launched an online portal, Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan (GOBARdhan), to provide a single access point for securing permission to develop and install biogas projects. The portal is open to user types of all kinds from government to private sector seeking to develop biogas and compressed bio-LNG projects. The government has begun recently to heavily support biogas project development to help reduce fossil fuel imports and tackle agricultural waste streams.
