Sri Lanka and Bangladesh interested in importing Indian ethanol

In India, the Hindu Business Line newspaper reports that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have indicated interest in importing ethanol from India. India already exports gasoline and diesel to Bangladesh via pipeline, and India’s transportation minister has indicated that it could be possible to sell both fuels blended with biofuels rather than purely fossil-based fuels. It could be a first step for Indian ethanol producers to tap into international markets, increasing demand and supporting ethanol prices.
