In Nakhon Sawan Province, Thailand, bioplastic producer NatureWorks has achieved significant milestones in the construction of its newest fully integrated Ingeo™ manufacturing complex. The site includes lactic acid fermentation, lactide monomer production, and polymerization, with an anticipated annual capacity of 75,000 tons of Ingeo biopolymer across the complete range of Ingeo grades.

“The construction of our new facility is a substantial endeavor that reflects NatureWorks’ continued commitment to both the Asia Pacific region and the growth of the biobased materials market,” Steve Bray, VP of Operations at NatureWorks, said in a press statement. “Demand for Ingeo biopolymers has surged across the Asia Pacific, and this new complex will enable us to sustainably and efficiently meet market demands while maintaining the highest quality of biopolymers.”

Startup is expected in 2025.
