Ethanol stocks jump as demand falls amidst soaring production

In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports Energy Information Administration data shows that ethanol stocks soared last week to 24.371 million barrels, an increase of 792,000 barrels compared to the week prior, bringing the total to a 38-week high. Rising production that averaged 1.062 million barrels a day, 119,000 more than the same time last year, soared past demand, leading to the stock build. Ethanol exports also jumped, nearly doubling the week prior at 157,000 barrels a day.
