India inaugurates first green hydrogen plant in stainless steel sector

In India, BNN Breaking reported that India’s Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently inaugurated a plant to produce green hydrogen for the stainless steel sector. Located in Hisar, Haryana, this plant is set to reduce carbon emissions, aligning with global environmental goals. The plant is engineered to cut down carbon emissions by approximately 2,700 metric tons annually. Over the next twenty years, it is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 54,000 tons, according to the report. By integrating green hydrogen into the stainless steel production process, India sets a precedent for reducing industrial carbon footprints globally, the report added.
