In Canada, PriceWaterhouseCoopers has been appointed by the Court of Queen’s Bench as receivers of NorAmera BioEnergy and NorAmera Technologies who own the NorAmera ethanol plant in Weyborn. The 25 million liter per year wheat-based ethanol facility was mothballed in May after falling gas prices and the end of both provincial and national blenders credits made the economics of the plant no longer viable. PWC hopes to have the company including the plant sold, pending court approval, by the end of January.
