Mexican court overturns E10 mandate but appeal to higher court still possible

In Mexico, Reuters reports that in mid-February a court overruled the 2017 E10 blending mandate, arguing it would increase air pollution rather than reduce it as advocates contend. Environmental activists have been pushing for the law to be overturned. The case must now go to a higher court for decision, but the E10 mandate will stay in place until that decision is taken. The country’s energy regulator had a 10-day window to appeal the decision but hadn’t indicated as of last week what it was going to do.
