Chhattisgarh agrees to first PPP ethanol plant

In India, the Hindustan Times reports the Chhattisgarh government has agreed to the state’s first public private partnership to set up an ethanol plant. The facility will be located at Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory Kawardha and produce 400,000 liter of ethanol per day in an effort to ensure timely payments to sugarcane farmers. The private partner is Chhattisgarh Distillery Limited’s subsidiary NKJ Biofuel. The memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties is to last for 30 years.
