CVR delays commissioning of Wynnewood renewable diesel production until late Q3

May 6, 2021 |

In Oklahoma, Reuters reports that CVR has delayed startup of its renewable diesel production capacity at its Wynnewood refinery until the end of the third quarter rather than in July due to this winter’s massive snowstorms interrupting the timely arrival of equipment. Costs have also rise to as much as $140 million from the previous estimate of $110 million. Although the project will use predominantly soybean oil as feedstock, it is currently seeking front-end processing solutions that will allow it to expand its feedstock supply to include non-edible oils and fats.
