Indian OMCs blend 10.16% ethanol as of July 10

In India, PSU Connect reports ethanol blended by Oil Marketing Companies reached 10.16% as of July 10 as the country races ahead to achieve its 20% mandate in the next three years. Although slower than ethanol production, interest in compressed biogas production has also been promoted as part of the wider energy policy to reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels, with letters of intent for more than 3,100 plants signed as of late February. For biodiesel, which should reach 5% blending by 2030, OMCs have received offers to produce 360 million liters of biodiesel from UCO from 61 proposed plants.
