Mato Grosso’s corn supplies seen enough for ethanol and Chinese exports

In Brazil, Reuters reports Mato Grosso’s corn-based ethanol producers believe that have sufficient feedstock available for the year even if China comes back into the market to by Brazilian corn. China and Brazil have signed a trade protocol for Brazilian export of corn to China, which although the producers say they don’t expect to result in supply challenges, it could change the price dynamic for the feedstock. The last five years as seen the state’s corn production increase by 50%, primarily in response to growing demand for ethanol.
